“I love how well my brain works on this plus Effexor XR. The hunger and dizziness worry me. I'm on Weight Watchers to help me lose weight and I am allowed 30 points a day. I eat all 30 points but sometimes it's like I haven't eaten anything. I can get so hungry I am nauseous. My doctors all say this is unusual because usually this is an appetite suppresent. I think it has sped up my metabolism. The last two days, I have added a peanut butter granola bar because, yesterday, despite eating half a serving of shepherd's pie and half a piece of cornbread, I felt empty like I haven't eaten in days. I decided to ignore the points and listen to my body. When I started methylphenidate in late August, I weighed 205 lbs (I am 41 years old and am 5'2. Just diagnosed with ADD and Aspergers in August). I now weigh 165. The medicine has helped me organize things and develop a sleep pattern, two things I have never been able to do. I do worry about the hunger and dizziness, though.”
