Lowers cholesterol well, but after a couple of months I noticed I couldn't remember things I'd just done, and I was having difficulty thinking and coming up with solutions to problems. Stopped taking it and congitive function was back to normal within 3 months. Unfortunately my cholesterol went up again, so I'm back on it short term.

Side Effects: Doctor started me on 40mg and I had nightmares so stopped. Started back on 10mg. No further problems. Cholesterol dropped from 6.75 to 4.5 UK measures don't know us conversion.
